This fall birthday card was quick and simple to make. The stamps featured are all by Rubbernecker stamps, namely, ‘Azalea Sunrise’ and ‘Happy Birthday Frame’.
Okay so the stamped flowers were supposed to be azaleas (according to the manufacturer), but I think they work just fine as tiger lillies. This stamp is a two part stamp set – first the color for the blooms followed by another stamp for the details and stems. I stamped the blooms by painting Ken Oliver color burst powders directly onto the stamp with a wet paint brush, and then the details we done using Marvy LePlume II markers (again directly onto the stamp). I used the markers on the frame stamp as well, which means this card is entirely stamping ink free! I didn’t use a single pad of ink on this card front which I think is a first for me.
Once I was satisfied with my ink-free stamped images, I splattered the card with black acrylic paint and added a few clear dew drop embellishments. I accented the flowers with silver Gellyroll pens right where the pollen would be. I then matted it on Stampin’ Up cardstock in ‘Mango Melody’ and adhered it to an A2 (5.5×4.25″) card base.
If I exclude the time it took for paint to dry, I worked on this card for less than an hour. For such a quick card I’m more than happy with the results!
