Oh Baby!

In the last few months, members of my friends and family have welcomed 5 new babies into their lives. There are now three more little boys and two more little girls making the world a little cuter. Here are the cards I made for 4 of them (I forgot to take a photo of one).

Happy Birthday Lillies

This fall birthday card was quick and simple to make. The stamps featured are all by Rubbernecker stamps, namely, ‘Azalea Sunrise’ and ‘Happy Birthday Frame’. Okay so the stamped flowers were supposed to be azaleas (according to the manufacturer), but I think they work just fine as tiger lillies. This stamp is a two part … Continue reading “Happy Birthday Lillies”

This stamp is a two part stamp set – first the color for the blooms followed by another stamp for the details and stems. I stamped the blooms by painting Ken Oliver color burst powders directly onto the stamp with a wet paint brush, and then the details we done using Marvy LePlume II markers (again directly onto the stamp). I used the markers on the frame stamp as well, which means this card is entirely stamping ink free! I didn’t use a single pad of ink on this card front which I think is a first for me.

Once I was satisfied with my ink-free stamped images, I splattered the card with black acrylic paint and added a few clear dew drop embellishments. I accented the flowers with silver Gellyroll pens right where the pollen would be. I then matted it on Stampin’ Up cardstock in ‘Mango Melody’ and adhered it to an A2 (5.5×4.25″) card base.

If I exclude the time it took for paint to dry, I worked on this card for less than an hour. For such a quick card I’m more than happy with the results!

Beautiful Day

Sometimes I just want to be creative with no goal in mind – I want to craft but I am out of birthdays or holidays that need cards, or I am simply inspired by an idea that I want to try. That is how this card came to exist: I wanted to try Ken Oliver … Continue reading “Beautiful Day”

Sometimes I just want to be creative with no goal in mind – I want to craft but I am out of birthdays or holidays that need cards, or I am simply inspired by an idea that I want to try.

That is how this card came to exist: I wanted to try Ken Oliver Color Burst powders on this large Leafy Vine background stamp (Hero Arts). I was happy with the resulting stamped images so I kept going by spritzing it with Perfect Pearls and embellishing it with this butterfly die cut (Stampin’ Up), which is actually 3 layers to give the idea that the butterfly is flying.

Ink colors used are Elegant Eggplant and Island Indigo (both SU). It is also matted on Island Indigo card stock. The ‘Beautiful Day’ sentiment is from Altenew. Background stamp is Hero Arts “Leafy Vine” and butterfly is Stampin’ Up!

Love & Sympathy

I made this quick sympathy card to have on hand, just in case (I hope to not need to anytime soon). This stunning and large orchid stamp is called “Quiet Whisper”. It is by Penny Black. I’ll be honest – it is a tricky stamp to use and I’ve only had this single success with … Continue reading “Love & Sympathy”

This stunning and large orchid stamp is called “Quiet Whisper”. It is by Penny Black. I’ll be honest – it is a tricky stamp to use and I’ve only had this single success with it so far. I love orchids so it will likely show up in more cards soon.

“Love & Sympathy” sentiment is from Stampin’ Up! and the Stitched border is Lawn Fawn. Large orchid is Penny Black “Quiet Whisper”.

Inside sentiment is by Stampin’ Up! and can be found in the ‘Love and Sympathy’ set.

Moose for Dad

Quick moose card I made for my dad. The moose stamp is from Stampin’ Up and the birds are Dark Room Door. The border die is Lawn Fawn (of course!) and the trees I cut using the Brother Scan N Cut. I stenciled the clouds using cloud stencils I made myself.
